Development

One of the most productive development teams of the 1980’s was that of MECC. With more than 300 titles over a number of platforms, the Dev Team produced so many programs that standards had to be set for the programs in order to maintain the consistent performance and appearance across the different computing platforms and programs.

Now thanks to the kind contribution of one member of that team, Robert Granvin, we have the original standards document from 1985. We have included this original document for those who wish to see the original as well as a re-formatted, textually complete reproduction version of the document for your viewing enjoyment.

The document itself, provides a window into the exacting standards by which the MECC development team performed their craft and the reason that they were responsible not just for the number of titles, but also for the best selling games in the history of computing.
