

In The Secret Island of Doctor Quandary, a maniacal, puzzle-loving genius has kids trapped on his island and is intent on turning them into mindless drones–forever! To outwit the doctor and recapture their energy forces, kids must solve each crazy puzzle he throws their way. Of course, even the wittiest wanderer can probably use a tip or two, so here are our hints for each puzzle:
| Items – Most items have three names – for easy, medium, and hard difficulty levels of the game . For example, the rose is “One red rose”in the easy level, “One thorny issue” for the medium level and “One by any other name” for the hard level. Main Beach – Pick up the bottle with the message inside and read message. Pick up the bag of tokens. Deposit the message in the recycling bin. Items received: “Recipe card” from the recycle bin, “Bag of tokens” (tokens are needed to play Tax Factor) and “A bottle”. Acid Test – Must complete Let’s Make a Door to enter the Acid Test. You must get the beaker – there is no shortcut! NOTE: Some bunsen burners will blow up the Acid room and the beaker survives, other bunsen burners will force a replay of the Acid Test and leave the beaker in the room. Items received: “A glass of green gas” (Gas that’s greener on the other side, A vial of vapor). Ape the Ape – No tricks – just follow the instructions. Items received: “A little tin cup” (Ape ade, Primate potion). Disc Appear – No tricks here either – use the strategy the Beach Dudette uses. NOTE:You must lose one game to get the required “Compact Disk” (An audiophile’s dream come true) for the recipe on the hard level only. Items received: “A tube of sun screen” (Beach balm). HMSB Quandary – No tricks – fit the pieces together. Use command click or the Right Arrow key/ option click or the Left Arrow key to rotate pieces. Items received: “A Bucket of Water” (Bilge water, Bucket o’bilge). Let’s Make a Door – No tricks either – fit the pieces together. Use command click or the Right Arrow key; option click or the Left Arrow key to rotate pieces. NOTE: You must complete to gain access to the Acid Test. No item is received. | Notorium – Line up underneath the note by clicking on the note, adjust left or right as needed. Items received: “A long stemmed rose” (One thorny issue, One by any other name). Num Lock – No tricks – Follow the instructions. Items received: “A padlock” (The prisoner holder, A number tumbler) and “A hair of Elvis in a Paperweight” (Hair from the King, A Graceland souvenir). Tad-Pult – Hit the fly with a gray rock, fling the fly in the frog’s mouth to open the gate. Feed the bird popcorn to enter cave. When using Tad-Pult, watch wind sock and adjust Tad-Pult as needed. Item received: “Frog eggs” (Tadpole wannabes, Amphibian embryos). Tax Factor – No tricks – Follow the instructions. You need the “Bag of tokens” from the Main Beach to enter Tax Factor. Item received: “A tax refund” (A 1040 rebate, Money from Uncle). Tire Tower – No tricks – Follow the instructions. Item received: “A can of oil” (A can of junkyard juice, Something slick but crude). Tunnel Vision – No tricks – Find your way through the tunnel. NOTE: You must enter the tunnel with a candle which is built at another location on the island, or you will not obtain the candle item mentioned below. (Pocket will only hold one good candle) Item received: “Cave moss” (Rock huggers hugging you), and the candle turns into “A clump of melted wax” (Recycled paraffin, A blob of former light). Waxy Buildup – No tricks – fit the pieces together. Use command click or the Right Arrow key; option click or the Left Arrow key to rotate pieces. Q’s Cauldron – Put into cauldron the exact ingredients (no more, no less) listed on the recipe card. Operate the bellows until the cauldron boils wildly. NOTE: If the ingredients are not exact, the brew will not boil – check the ingredients again. |
