DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION – A game-like simulation in which students assume the role of the caretaker of the Philadelphia State House on the day before the U.S. Constitution was signed, September 16, 1787. It is the students’ duty to protect the Constitution until the signing ceremony the following morning. During the simulation, students must face two kinds of challenges: determining which visitors requesting to examine the Constitution should be allowed to do so; and consulting a database of information that helps them repair accidental or intentional damage done to the Constitution.
