Anyone who thinks that delivering pizza is a simple job has never encountered the Pizza Pests! They’ll stop at nothing to steal a piping hot pizza! To make the delivery person’s job easier, kids use simple and compound machines — levers, pulleys, and gear wheels — to keep the pizza from the Pizza Pests’ greedy grasp. As kids become familiar with machines, they’ll learn how to adjust variables to make tasks easier.

Introduction

The Pizza to Go™ discovery-learning game motivates students to learn about simple and compound machines. Students control the mechanical advantage on simple and compound machines in order to move obstacles (called Pizza Pests) out of the way of the pizza-delivery character.

Title: Pizza to Go
Subject: Physical science
Topic: Simple and compound machines
Grade Range: 3-6, junior high
